Veggies you can sow/plant in November
With a lot of winter veg it's started earlier in the year, around summer time. However there is still time to get some things growing through winter on the allotment. If you can't find them in the shops like wilko and B&Q, there's always online. Japanese Onion sets Garlic cloves Shallots Broad beans (autumn varieties such as aquadulce Claudia) Spring onions (hardy varieties like white Lisbon) Winter lettuce (with some protection) Spinach

Where to buy seeds/plants/trees
There really is no right or wrong answer as to where you can buy your seeds or plants. Some swear by the most expensive seeds and they buy fresh seeds each year. Myself I've had great success with the cheapest seeds I can find. However if you're going to buy from eBay (which I do) there are some bad sellers on there claiming to sell weird things like a rainbow rose or blue strawberries. They do not exist, so don't buy from these sellers. I have found good suppliers on Ebay such as premier seed

Slug pellets ban
From August 2019 the shops will stop selling Metaldehyde slug pellets and from April 2020 they are completely banned as they pose a risk to mammals. However these aren't the only slug control on the market. So I will be using the organic slug pellets as normal. See the video on my personal opinions on slug control.

Ty Canol view allotment history
Just a little history about our allotment that I've found. As you know the Ty Canol estate was built in the 80s. But before that it was a farm. Ty Canol means middle house and on the English records it is listed as middle house. Dealing with Mares Tail
If you are intending to spray MT,the best time to deal with it is when it at full height so the foliage absorbs it. You can burn it out or, if you're lucky, dig beneath the roots. An effective treatment is Domestos. When it begins to die back, cover over and leave for a season. Note, however, that bleach is harmful to animals and wildlife to exercise caution
